New SecureTower to comprehensively control encrypted traffic and user identities
FalconGaze has announced the public release of SecureTower v.1.0 – a powerful data leak protection system – with numerous security improvements. With the new SecureTower, the security department will not miss a thing since it can monitor SSL traffic, accurately identifies users even when they send information from a different computer and can now search with regular expressions taken into account. A new feature of statistic control of employees activities has been added.
The solution now ensures a comprehensive protection against Internet data leak while it can control encrypted Internet communication channels such as HTTPS, encrypted e-mail, and instant messages. This significantly extends the scope of a company’s control over user activities in web-environment. Now, not a single attempt of intended disclosure of confidential data via any Internet means is going to stay unnoticed by the security department.
The new SecureTower also employs more sophisticated links between users and their identification information in order to ensure that no local user remains unknown to the maximum extent possible. Even if the user changes the computer, IP address, or logs in to work on a terminal server to send some information, SecureTower will sensibly identify the correct person to avoid confusion. This feature has been made possible with the help of user SIDs’ interception implemented in the new version of SecureTower.
A particular benefit for large companies with heavy document flow is that now SecureTower can search by regular expressions, or document patterns. This means that now you can receive notifications on transfer of documents of a specific pattern (for example, credit card information or a social security number) without having to solely stick to searching their contents. The feature is so helpful because certain documents or types of information have a specific recognizable pattern, but often with significantly different contents, so it is rather hard for the system to find them using full-text search only. Searching by the pattern makes this possible.
Substantial enhancements have been made to the security center that is responsible for automatic notifications on data leak. Now, the security center provides the means for company managers to maintain a statistic control of their employees' activities and to get statistic reports on user actions in the network, which is an obvious improvement of the programs' user activity monitoring feature. For example, one can get notified of activities of those users who most or least often send e-mails or instant messages or visit web-sites, etc., thus, detecting the most active "talkers" or those swerving from duties.
Apart from that, SecureTower v 1.0 has a more detail-oriented filtering mechanism with more new filters (by file and e-mail sizes, MAC addresses, etc.) and also has taken steps towards improved collaboration of security officers – now they can share links to detected documents.
With SecureTower you can stay protected against and be highly responsive to any data security breaches because it controls all the Internet communication channels, automatically notifies you once it detects data leak or other suspicious events and accurately identifies the violators for you to take prompt remedial action.
